EXAMPLE 1-Sealant required for 1,000 ft. of 4" pipe with 3" of insulation.

Allowance for losses, etc. = 1.25 x 245 = 306 gallons
EXAMPLE 3
Double layer with sealant between layers, inner
layer dry joints - 6" pipe, 2" inner layer, 3" outer layer,
1000 ft. of pipe. The first step is to get the diameters, thicknesses and
number of sections from the insulation tables.

Sealant areas to be coated are the inside, longitudinal and butt joint areas of the outer layer.
