 Improve Thermal Performance
| Any combination of insulation may be combined as double
layer application to improve the overall performance of the system. Improve the
thermal efficiency of high K-factor insulations by installing an outer layer of
a low K product. | Provide Mechanical
Protection
| In high traffic areas protect your vapor/weather barrier
(mastic or jacket) from abuse by installing a layer of pliable insulation over
it | Dry
out wet insulation
| Install an "Overfit" system of cellular glass
and aluminum jacket on any hot system with wet insulation and "steam-out"
moisture. Return system to original thermal performance. |
Retard water
and Fire
| Cellular Glass with sealed butt and longitudinal joints on
outer layer provides initial vapor/moisture barrier to the system.
Additionally, cellular glass will not burn. With stainless steel jacket and
bands a fire rating may be achieved, improving the system flame and smoke
characteristics. | |

Extol Composite Insulation
System Developed to utilize the best
attributes of each insulation material.
Advantages of Combined
Materials:
* Provide Additional Moisture & Corrosion
Resistance * Increase Thermal Performance * Improve Flame & Smoke
Rating * Allow for Expansion/Contraction * Provides Initial Barrier to
Moisture Ingress * Complete Pipe, Vessel and
Fitting System * Fabrication=ASTM C450 &
C585 |
Insulation Materials: Cellular Glass, Styrofoam, Perlite Isocyanurate, Mineral Wool,
Phenolic and Elastomeric
Vapor/Weather Barrier Jackets &
Mastic Coatings
Recommended Installation Practices
 |

Provide for
Expansion/Contraction
| To prevent gaps in insulation as a result of too much
expansion or contraction at hot/cold temperatures; install an insulation with a
low coefficient of expansion near the hot/cold surface. Remember to install
properly spaced expansion/ contraction joints to complete the system. |

Systems Which Cycle
| Also when confronted with systems which cycle regularly
from cold to hot. Apply an inner layer insulation , compatible with system
temperature, that will allow movement of the pipe system. This, in combination
with an outer layer of insulation that is totally sealed and cellular, will
provide additional vapor/ weather barrier protection. | |
